Religious Education

As a Catholic learning community all students are involved in Religious Education both in the form of formal classes within their learning programme and through the Faith Retreat programmes that operate at each year level.

The emphasis of the religious education programme is for girls to grow in their knowledge of the history, rituals and traditions of the Catholic faith and of other established faith traditions.

The College follows the guidelines as directed by the Archdiocese of Melbourne, using the texts of the series “To Know, Worship and Love” for Years 7 to 10. Years 11 and 12 have the opportunity to engage in the VCE Religion and Society Units 1 to 4 as well as Texts and Traditions Units 1 to 4. These subjects are resourced by a web-based program titled “Understanding Faith” that the students access through the College intranet.

The Religious Education programmes are designed to meet students where they are on their faith journey and nurture the depth and breadth of their knowledge about the Catholic tradition and other religious traditions.
