Transition Support

Our College recognises the need for significant support at the time of key transitions in secondary education.

Year 6 into Year 7

The transition programme for students commencing at Mount St. Jospeh Girls’ College in Year 7 is an extensive one based around the following core elements designed to reduce anxiety and aid a smooth transition of learning environment:

• Provision of required information to parents, carers and students in a timely manner in the months prior to commencement.
• A primary school visitation programme involving MSJ staff and students.
• A buddy programme with year 12 students.
• An Orientation Day programme with significant involvement of the College Student Leadership Team representatives from a range of year levels.

Year 12 Into Further Study or Employment

The careers pathway advice is extensive and the matching of student interests and talents to appropriate tertiary study and vocational pathways is well established.

The On Track data, which monitors students after graduation, affirms the high level of students who engage fully in the pathways MSJ graduates have chosen to pursue in the years following their graduation.
