Welcome back to Term 4, it has been wonderful to welcome back all our students and to participate in face-to-face learning. The MSJ community came to life when all our students returned from remote learning. The Wellbeing Team has been working hard to provide the care and guidance needed for the students to actively re-engage in their learning. We have celebrated reconnect days with each year level. These days provided an opportunity for students to reconnect with their peers in their year level and staff at the College.

This year has been challenging but our students have approached the pandemic with tenacity and courage, however as we return to the ’new normal', some students may need additional wellbeing support. I remind our families that your daughter’s Learning Mentor and Wellbeing Leader are the first point of call. Students can also access our counselling team. Parents can make a direct referral to the counsellors by contacting your daughter’s Wellbeing Leader.

Last week, we farewelled our Year 12 students. The students were able to celebrate the culmination of six years of secondary education. The students created their own fitting farewell by establishing a new ritual with the redesigning of the College dress. We were so impressed by the students’ collaboration and creativity. We wish our students well as they enter the final assessment period.

This term, the College is trialling a new application that measures the emotional wellbeing of our students. Students are required to complete a short survey and the information supports the College to identify trends in connection, safety and wellbeing. Attached is a Frequently Asked Questions document about the application.

With every blessing,

Steven Mifsud - Deputy Principal Student Wellbeing
