Tennis

Our MSJ tennis teams made a strong statement at the CGSAV Division 1 Competition, held at Geelong Tennis Club. This year we were provided with the opportunity to move up from Division 3 to Division 1, despite the increased skill level, our teams were able to finish the day with an impressive overall result.

Both our Junior and Senior teams earned a place in the grand final, however they were unable to secure the win. Despite resulting in a loss, both teams demonstrated outstanding determination and resilience throughout the competition. Their efforts and teamwork evident within each match.

The intermediate team also had an impressive performance, yet just missed out on finals, overall placing third. Their commitment and hard work contributed to a strong overall result for the school and reflected the extensive talent and sportsmanship amongst the team.

It was exhilarating to experience such a high-energy and positive environment and to see the collective strength of teamwork and competitive spirit at MSJ.

Thank you CGSAV for once again organising a remarkable tournament, congratulations to all the schools and players involved!! Go MSJ!!

MSJ at CGSAV Swimming

On Monday, March 16th 2026, MSJ proudly competed in the CGSAV Division 1 Swimming Competition. Many dedicated students showed up to the Tuesday morning swim sessions to prepare for the upcoming event.

On the day of the competition, everybody gave their best, and when needed, swimmers stepped up to fill in spots without reluctance. MSJ competed against eight other schools, which was no easy task, but with support from our teammates, we pushed through.

It was a competitive day of swimming, with many close races and great team spirit. Our junior team finished 3rd, the Intermediates placed 8th, and the Seniors finished 5th, bringing MSJ to an overall 6th place finish in the competition.

We are extremely proud of everyone who represented MSJ and the effort, sportsmanship, and team attitude shown throughout the day. A big thank you to Mr McCartney for organising the event, and any teachers or parents coming to support the team.

The commitment shown at training and during the competition reflects the strong nature of the MSJ swim team, and we look forward to seeing the team continue to grow in the years ahead.

National Hockey Success Continues for Chloe

Congratulations to Chloe, who continues to achieve outstanding success in hockey at the national level. In January, Chloe was selected to represent Team Victoria at the Hockey Australia U/14 Indoor National Championship held in Goulburn, NSW.

Chloe and her team remained undefeated throughout the tournament and advanced to the Grand Final against a strong NSW side. After a challenging first half that saw Victoria trailing 0–4, the team staged an incredible comeback to level the score at 4–4 by full time, before securing the Gold Medal in a thrilling shootout. This result is especially impressive as Chloe was still technically eligible for the U/12 age group at the time of the competition.

This marks Chloe’s second national gold medal, following her victory at the 2024 School Sport Australia U/12 National Hockey Championships in Cairns. In 2025, she also captained the Victorian team to a bronze medal finish at the School Sport Australia Nationals in Bendigo, where she previously represented the College with great pride.

Chloe’s 2024 championship team was also recognised at the School Sport Australia Awards Night, where they were named Victorian Team of the Year, highlighting an exceptional year of achievement.

An incredible effort, Chloe - we are very proud of your dedication, leadership, and continued success!
