Mary showed how, in ordinary ways, love could do amazing things. In her thoughtfulness and goodness, she moved towards others. Over this break how will you ensure you show peace, kindness, generosity, faithfulness and self control? We hope you spend some time with families over the Christmas break, ready to tackle the new year ahead.
The year 7 Orientation Day was a great success as students navigated a new world where they experienced secondary school. They were able to meet with other students, staff, Year 10 peer support students as they navigated school tours, icebreaker games and engaged in some fun activities across a number of domains. We look forward to them joining us next year.
On Tuesday 2nd December the cohort of new students joined us to start their MSJ journey. They were joined by our new Year 11 Supportive Friends. We look forward to them growing as part of our MSJ community.
Remember that from the 1st January 2026 students under 18 will be able to get free travel on public transport. The youth Myki card will cost $5 and once purchased will enable the free travel across Victoria.

It was great to see so much energy and enthusiasm as the students finished their schooling for 2025. Students collected their school magazine, participated in Mass, and had Year level assemblies and KK.
As you are all well aware the social media bans kick in on December 10. We strongly encourage you to seek support and advice from the e-safety commissioner. We know many platforms are currently looking at how they can circumnavigate the bans with new ones. We encourage you to actively take a role in navigating this as parents, guardians and carers. The following link will take you there directly: e-safety commissioner.

Sadly MSJ has accumulated quite the collection of uniform pieces that belong to the students. All pieces are not labelled and hence cannot be returned to students. If you are missing an item please reach out with the details of the missing items (including badges on blazers) so we can re-unite you with them.
We greatly appreciate many of you donating uniform items that we can provide to families in need. If you have anything you would like to donate please leave it at the front office and attach your details so we know where it has come from.

The Peer Support Leaders Program is a group of Year 10 students that work with the Year 7 students. We work in groups of 5-6 and are associated with on of the Year 7 LM groups. We make connections with the students and create a sense of belonging. Each week, we run Fun Friday, where we visit the Year 7 pastoral groups to check in, chat and take part in fun activities like Pictionary, Finish the Lyrics, Guess the Celebrity, Trivia, Blookets, Kahoots, Emoji Quizzes, Name the Song to name a few of the activities we create and lead. These sessions bring lots of joy and togetherness into the room and they also create opportunities to build friendships in their classes. By spending time with the year 7s each week, we helped the Year 7s feel supported as they settle into high school, encouraging teamwork and friendships to form.
