As Term 2 draws to a close, we take this opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the energy, enthusiasm, and achievements that have made this term such a vibrant and rewarding one at MSJ.
This term has been filled with a wide range of activities that have showcased the talents, dedication and spirit of our students and staff. From our enthusiastic participation in the CGSAV Athletics Day and other inter-school sports, to the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere of our Open Day, our College community has truly come together to showcase all that MSJ has to offer. I extend my gratitude to all students and staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the day to make Open Day such a wonderful success.
A highlight this term was our MMADD Day, where creativity and collaboration took centre stage. The enthusiasm and teamwork shown by students across all year levels was inspiring, especially the Year 7 and Year 12 students who worked together so passionately to choreograph and perform their House Dances in the much-anticipated Dance Off. Their leadership, unity, and joy were a true reflection of the MSJ spirit.
In continuing our mission to grow in faith and action, we celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart with a beautiful liturgy, coming together as a community to reflect on compassion and service. Our commitment to social justice was also evident in the Winter Sleepout, where students and staff raised vital funds for St Vincent de Paul, while also deepening their understanding of homelessness and solidarity.
Learning at MSJ goes far beyond the classroom, and this term has been rich with excursions, incursions, and reflection days, all of which have deepened student learning and engagement across all year levels and learning areas.
Looking ahead, Term 3 brings exciting opportunities. We are thrilled to welcome students from Seirei Holy Spirit High School, Japan, as part of our Peace Program. Our sincere thanks to the host families who have opened their homes and hearts to make this special cultural exchange possible. We look forward to the deep connections and shared learning this program will bring.
Our vision for the future of learning also continues to take shape as we work closely with our architects to design a state-of-the-art Art and Technology building. This new space will be a hub of creativity and innovation and will support our continued commitment to 21st-century learning.
The students have worked very hard throughout the term, and I want to thank them for their focus, resilience, and determination especially during the exam and assessment week. I commend them for their dedication and commend the staff for their ongoing support and guidance throughout this time.
As we come to the end of another full and rewarding term, I extend my heartfelt thanks to our students, staff, and families for their ongoing support, commitment, and partnership. I wish everyone a restful and safe break and look forward to returning refreshed and ready for the opportunities of Term 3.
