Youth Mental First Aid Course

As part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing and working in partnership with our families, the College has sourced a free and exclusive to MSJ families Youth Mental Health First Aid Course. This two day course is being offered at the Newport Library on Saturday May 29 and Friday 4 June. The Course will be offered by the City of Hobson’s Bay and participants will receive a certificate. If you are interested please respond in the form below.

The 14-hour Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for adults who work, live or care for adolescents, such as school staff, parents, sports coaches, community group leaders and youth workers.

You will learn how to assist an adolescent who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based action plan.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with real life experience of mental health problems and professionals.
