As we come to the close of Term Three, we hold in our thoughts and prayers all who have recently been impacted by violence in our state. May God’s healing presence bring comfort to families, communities, and all who are grieving and struggling at this time.

This term has been a little different for me personally, as I was on leave during much of it. I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Stacey Bourke and Chantelle Gauci who so generously stepped into the role of Acting Principal during my absence. Their dedication, leadership, and care for the community ensured that College life continued to flourish. I am deeply grateful for their commitment.

Even in my absence, I have been so proud of the way our students and staff have embraced the spirit of MSJ. This has been a term full of energy, joy, and achievements that truly reflected this year’s theme, Be the Light that ignites Hope. Some particular highlights include:

Mary MacKillop Feast Day – A beautiful and fun celebration of faith and community, where our students demonstrated incredible generosity by raising funds to support Josephite charities, keeping alive the legacy of Mary MacKillop and the Sisters of St Joseph.

College Production | Little Shop of Horrors – A truly spectacular showcase of creativity, teamwork, and talent. Congratulations to the cast, crew, and staff who worked tirelessly to bring this production to life.

Male Mentors Breakfast – A wonderful morning of connection and inspiration, with guest speaker Paulie Stewart sharing an uplifting message that resonated deeply with students, families, and mentors alike.

Sound and Vision | A Presentation of Music, Drama and Fine Arts – An amazing evening highlighting the creative and artistic talents of so many of our students. It was a very professional and entertaining evening. Included in the evening was an amazing display of the work that our Years 7-10 Visual Art students have completed throughout the year. I am incredibly proud of all involved. Thank you to all staff, in particular the staff who have worked with these students as part of our Instrumental and Drama program. It was a fabulous night.

I extend my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to all who contributed to these significant events and to all the great learning that has happened throughout this term.

As we move into Term 4, we especially keep our Year 12 students in our prayers. They are now in the final weeks of their journey at MSJ, and we wish them courage, wisdom, and strength as they prepare for their final exams and the transition into the next chapter of their lives.

May this holiday break be a time of rest, renewal, and joy for all students, families, and staff. Thank you for the many ways you continue to bring our College to life each day.
